Over the last few days  I have been looking up all of the different Halloween cocktails, creative food ideas, and Halloween party ideas, and have found a few that I thought were simple, yet interesting.  I have tried a few out myself and had mixed results.

Stuffed Pepper Jack-O-Laterns

I have seen this one on a few different creative Halloween lists and I had everything in my fridge to try it out, so I gave it a go myself.  It was an easy process and everything worked great.  The finished product, after they cooked, made them look a little odd.  They looked like they were crying when I took them out of the oven because the fat from the ground beef started pouring out of the eyes.  It was quite erie looking.  I found this one at delish.com.

The Blood and Sand

There are quite a few cocktails to make simply for the visual beauty during Halloween season.  This one is great looking in an off-putting way.  It fits the season, as well as will fit a connoisseur’s pallete. 

• 3/4 ounce scotch whisky
• 3/4 ounce rosso sweet vermouth
• 1/4 ounce cherry brandy
• 1 1/2 ounces orange juice

Combine indgredients in shaker, and pour in a rocks glass filled with ice.

Make a Halloween Punch

In a large clear punchbowl (so your guests can see the dirty “sewer” punch) combine the vodka, orange juice, Dr. Pepper, and ice. Mix together well. Add in additional creepy sewer things like gummy bugs to complete your Halloween punch.

Bobbin’ for Apples Punch

• 2 1/2 cups apple vodka
• 1 1/4 cup apple schnapps
• 6 cups lemon-lime soda
• Frozen red apples
• 4 red apples (sliced)

Trick or Treat

Make six labels to cover six non-see through cups. In three of the cups put a ‘trick’ shot, in the remaining three put ‘treat’ shots.  Lay them out in a line, each player must roll a dice and must drink what ever number shot they land on. Periodically mix up the cups when ‘trick’ and ‘treat’ shots are re-filled. Half the fun is not knowing whether it’s Apple Sourz or Gin in that cup!
